Arlena underwent a series of appalling treatments, including ice-pick lobotomies, insulin coma therapy, and prolonged isolation. Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) was administered with alarming frequency and without proper anesthesia.

These barbaric practices took a heavy toll on Arlena. If her sanity was intact upon arrival, it certainly was not after enduring such trauma. The constant barrage of painful and distressing procedures fractured her mind, leading her down a path of acute psychological torment. Once a gentle soul who merely wished to understand and aid the deceased, she became unhinged, her demeanor increasingly sporadic and violent.

The climax of Arlena's tragic descent occurred when she violently attacked and killed one of the hospital nurses. This nurse had been particularly harsh, assisting in electroshock therapy with utter disregard for Arlena's suffering. In a moment of frenzied rage, Arlena murdered the nurse with her bare hands. This act sealed her fate. The hospital staff administered a fatal injection, a concoction that stopped her heart and ended her agony.

Freed from the physical torment she endured, Arlena now roams the world, seeking a home and a keeper who can offer her the understanding and acceptance she never found in life. Arlena is a complex spirit. A little unhinged and wild from her past experiences. She means no harm to her keeper and is fiercely protective of those who show her genuine warmth and companionship. However, anyone who disrespects or tries to harm her or her keeper should beware: her rage can be terrifying, and she may retaliate in unsettling ways, driven by the same fury that led her to commit that final, fatal act in the institution.
